Today was the big day! Greg woke up with a grin and was excited to get to school!
I was able to go into class with him and we did a few activities like hand prints. Nothing like paint in new school clothes, right?
Greg was somewhat nonchalant about the whole experience. After we did everything I knelt down by his desk and told him I would be back get him soon. He gave me the biggest little five year old boy hug I have ever gotten. His chin was just quivering and I had to keep myself from losing it right there.
I made it until I walked in the front door and then I cried like a baby for my baby. He loved preschool but I knew he was nervous about a new school, making new friends.
He came out happy and he was excited to play with a church friend and some soccer friends at recess - success!!

He is darling! I love that his chin quivered but love even more that he had such a great day!
What a cutie, so glad he had a great first day at school!
SITSgal dropping by. OMG I don't know how I will handle that. I still have a good three years to go, but time moves so fast. It was nice they let you stay for a little while and I'm glad your boy was so brave. I only hope mine can be that brave. As for crying, I will probably be doing that long before school. I still find myself crying at how fast she is growing now.
Wow, the school year starts early for you. Ours keeps getting earlier and is the 18th.
I too cried once I got home after sending each one to school for the first time. You adjust and start to love your free time. I volunteered at the school which was fun. Soon you'll be welcoming the freedom!!
Holy smokes! Can you believe our little boys are in Kindergarten? He is such a sweet little guy! Glad he had a great first day! (Carsen was on the verge of tears as well...luckily, I had on my big over-sized sunglasses so he couldn't see what was happening with my eyes!) As I bid him good-bye I was actually sad that I wasn't standing around with my old neighbor friends wiping the tears and reminiscing about our little boys together!
Oh... I remember those days! I cried... and then the day I dropped my daughter off at middle school I cried like the day I dropped her off at kindergarten.
Glad he had a great day! You all sure start school early... we still have 3 weeks...
