Thrifty Treasures Monday!

I had a few errands to run with Greg on Friday and of course we were lured in by the yard sale signs.
He is seriously hooked.
He yelled out that he saw the sign and "we need to hurry mom!"
Um...okay?
I pulled up and he was out in a flash...and no wonder.  His little 5 year old eyes spotted these RIGHT away.
The lady wanted $30, then okay maybe $25 and then when she saw I was being iffy, she said the lowest she could go was $20 per ship.  Each ship came with a large blue box full of ALL the accessories.
So Greg promised to hand over his piggy bank to me when we got home and I bought the ship for him.
He.was.thrilled.

My boys LOVE playing pirates.  Graham has a large pirate ship I bought from my friend Kj over a year ago and it gets played with almost daily.  Greg went and got that ship from upstairs and then I instantly knew I was in deep trouble....there would be ship envy.
"Look mom, my new ship is WAY bigger than Graham's!!"

Crap.

I am such a pushover good mom that I busted my butt back over to that sale, stole the second ship out of some crying kids hands up off the ground and that my friends is how I paid $40 for two large pirate ships, two huge boxes of pirates and all their booty as well as the treasure chest case that unfold to become pirate island.
I was lucky it was still there!
I looked the ships up online and found that each ship new costs $119.00  There is NO WAY I would ever pay $240.00 for these!!  But I'm glad that lady did and that her kids didn't like playing pirates like she had hoped!!

All I managed to get otherwise were a few odds and ends for LuLu for fall including this winter coat for $3.00 Not bad.
I really need a weekend to go WITHOUT the boys.
They are fun but I feel like we are good on toys for awhile and they don't understand the concept yet that we don't buy something at every stop.  They are learning, but their little hearts have trouble leaving toys behind!

We have one more week of tennis lessons and then I am going to be a SERIOUS yard sale lady looking for some things for my house and porch!

CALL ME when you go again. I will save my pennies and try to think of something cooler than a mug holder to look for this time;)

How likely is that I could find a baby swing to put on our swingset for 10.00 or less?

Yeah! I love that you ran back to buy that for Greg. I love the sails on them. Are they made out of cloth?
If Neil is in town I'd LOVE to make a morning of it with you...Lets schedule it!

I am pretty sure I know who you bought those pirate ships from! Was it the house that is kitty corner up and behind me house? Was her name Kristie with a Texan accent? My boys used to play with those at her house and they LOVED them! The funny thing is... she would definitely spend that much money on them and you really got a GREAT deal!!!!
