We were out in the sun like this...(the hot sun, with hardly any shade...)
These were cotton candy #1's...I think they had 3 each. Blech.

We enjoyed one bite of an undercooked hamburger. Oh wait. I enjoyed one bite. Dan ate the whole thing and then felt sick that night. Duh, baby.
And climbed up this.
It was in the parking lot friends. Nothing like going back to work on a Friday night to hang out at a pseudo carnival in the parking lot. It was hot, the food was, well...you saw it and the music was so loud that we were all covering our ears.
Last year they sent us to a local amusement park for the day and it was FANTASTIC. Loved it and we had a terrific time. Why they went back to this I have no clue.
Dan did get a nice cash bonus for their big birthday bash the day before and you know we stopped by Wendy's on the way home to get a decent burger.

I would want the amusement park too. Is it really that much cheaper to have all of that in a parking lot?
Maybe next year!!
Looks like some good fun! ps...I still sneak salt..hehe
Looks like so much fun-I haven't had cotton candy in years-now I want some :P
Sounds like a FULL day at least!! Good ol' Wendy's saves the day :)
Dave's work tried that one year. Instead of their annual gathering at the Homestead they did a day at Thanksgiving Point. It was about the hottest day of the year and we were all miserable. And we already had an annual pass to TG Point so we didn't care about the stuff they had going on. They switched back to the Homestead when people said they would pay to stay there rather than do TG Point again!
A lot of companies are doing things cheaper, I think. My hubby works for one of the biggest employers in town, but they cancelled last year's Christmas party, don't do nice catered lunches, etc. SIgns of the times, I guess. Boo!!
All I was hoping for was a cooked hamburger for the kids! The games they had were fun - but they spend twice as much money doing the on-site carnival than they do having us go to an amusement park. Not sure what HR was thinking - but I'm sure there were people who weren't happy with either scenario.
Let's just face it - when I get too hot I get cranky.
I bet the kids had fun. Why is it that kids can have fun in miserable circumstances and we complain? (I am so like you! Hot weather makes me sweat and makes me super grumpy!)
