Crepe Paper Gift Tags

I'm so excited to link up to the 3rd installment of the Holiday Home Link Party with Kate and Be Different, Act Normal!

If you know me at all you know I love a good craft and Dan rolls his eyes at my bins of "pretties, beads, sparklies, glitter, etc"
He collects computers, I collect yards and yards of ribbon!
I decided to make a fun little gift tag for this go around.
Some of you I'm sure could improve immensely on this.  I was interrupted 500 times by a 2 year old.  And since she IS my priority, the craft sometimes suffers neglect.

Take a roll of party crepe paper.
I measured the length of my arm and then sort of tripled that.
Fold that length in half.
Do a loose basting stitch along one of the edges, lightly gathering as you go.
It will look curly and swirly like this.  Gently pull the thread until it is taut and you can form a circle from the paper.
Thread the needle through to make a simple knot and cut.
Hot glue the two ends together and you have formed your circle.
Like a little clown collar!  Cute, if I liked clowns, but I don't, they are super scary.  So let's continue.
I grabbed a few scraps of Christmas paper and cut random circles out for the main tag.  This is when I thought for the 100th time that I should really invest in a round punch tag.
For the polka dot circle I just put a little Elmer's glue on the edges and sprinkled glitter on the edge.
I glued the circles on top of each other and then on top of the crepe paper.
I saw these at Hob Lob and thought they would be cute for this.  I cut out one more circle for the center of the tag and attached the snowflake brad.
Hot glue a little twine onto the back to hang or attach to a gift.
And voila!
Would I make 100 of these for gift tags?  Um, no.  But they are perfect for a special friend or gift.
The possibilities on making these are endless!  So fun - start to finish it took me about three hours and 20 minutes.  If LuLu was not home it would take me about 15.  (smile)
Can't wait to see what all you talented ladies come up with!

Adorable! I love how cute you made crepe paper look. It always gets gross and crumpled when I work with it:)
