Simple Red Christmas Mantle

Eeek!
I don't want to be late for Layla's mantle party so I am going to post quick!

My tree is really, really red this year so I wanted to keep the mantle (right next to it) not as fussy.  Just clean and simple.
After looking at this empty wreath for the last year in my garage (I bought a larger one after Christmas last year) I finally got around to decorating this one.

I love the Nutcracker standing guard over children who try to take down their stockings to play with.  Not that that ever happens here.
Shopped the house for these trees to balance the look.
I love these large metal glittered snowflakes!

Decided duct tape was NOT chic for hanging stockings so I broke down to buy some holders this year.

Off to work on the rest of the rooms to get ready for Rhoda's Vignette Party on the 2nd!  I'll also be doing a Starbucks giveaway for my blogiversary that day!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's simple yes, but simply perfect! Love the pic of all the stockings. So cute! I think we did rather well on a time crunch!

Lookin' good, hot stuff.
I'm looking forward to decorating for Christmas for the first time. We've always gone out of town for the holidays before. Well, except for last year...we were already at our parents so it didn't matter. Anyhow, I have been collecting vintage Christmas goodies since we were at school together. I can't wait to bring them out. We had big plans to go get our tree tonight but it is crazy windy and rainy here today so I don't think it will happen. For now, I will look at your pretty decorating and be happy with that.

love love,
Kitty

Kristen, First off- thanks for your really sweet comment saying you liked my mantel and fireplace. I went a little more contemporary this year, and so many people out in blogland just don't like that look. But I just can't do "cute" and "shabby" doesn't quite fit my style, either. Your own mantel is very nice- I love the sparkly snowflakes- gotta love bling! And of course, tape just couldn't quite cut it, I agree- so your snowflake stocking holders fit in perfectly. What! Children sneaking into stockings before Christmas? LOL
We sometimes did a St. Nicholas treat on Dec. 6- except that I always seemed to forget and was often chided by my "pals." Dan would go searching in his stocking and nothing was there. Bad mommy...I'll look for you at the next party! I have to get going- I am so far behind....

Love the minimal look. the red totally pops in front of the cream and white. Where in the world did you find those oversized snowflakes? I love them!

Your mantel is simple and beautiful. I love the red and white theme. Your wreath looks so good with the snow flakes added. Thanks so much for visiting and following. I did the same.

It looks great, Kristen! I try to tie my mantel in with my tree, too, because mine are also next to each other. I love your stocking holders. I think I'm going to have to buy new ones because I can't find mine! I can't find a whole bin actually, but the stocking holders are the only things I really still need.

Kristen I love this. I like how you echoed the snowflakes from the stockings and stocking holders onto the wreath. Very cute. I also checked out your tree posting below and had to laugh at the mess the kids left. My sister always redecorates her tree after the kids go to bed because everything is placed at their eye level.

Very nice! Can I ask where you got your stockings? I have been looking for something exactly like that!

Jessica - I don't have an email for you to respond! I got the stockings at Target about 6 years ago. I saw some similar ones in my Target this past week! Happy stocking shopping!
