Fun Fall Things

So I HAD to copy Susie on her Spooky Tree. Much to my delight I saw a leased home for sale with a dead tree in the garbage. Since no one lives there I figured it was free game, right? Much to the horror of my kids I hopped out of the car and started snapping off branches. Painted them black and here we go! Greg thought of hanging the pumpkins on the tree and as you can guess with little ones, their locations change daily! I was looking all over for the infamous Dollar Tree crow but after hitting up SIX Dollar Tree's with no luck, I've given up.
I did add a little moss on the branches though...eh. I think the table feels a little busy so there is still some tweaking to do!
An apothecary jar filled with glittered gourds and pumpkins and some acorn friends in the next jar over. They have to stay contained to keep away from 3 year olds who think their little sister might like to eat them!
My fall mantle. Again, eh. It's just sooo...predictable? I love the glass blown pumpkin I got a local decor store called TaiPan a few years ago, but it hardly looks as spooky as i would like.
The kids had a great time hitting a local thrift store with me looking for a Pirate costume earlier this week. So maybe we'll do that again in search of some Halloween goodies to put up there.

PS...the happy way to start a day is having your two older kids gone at Grandma and Grandpa's to spend the night so you can sleep in till 8 a.m. (More on that hot date later!) It is NOT, however, a happy thing to have the life insurance lady whip out her scale and tape measure in the middle of your kitchen at 9 a.m. after you have gorged yourself at The Cheesecake Factory the night before and you are still full from THAT!

Hmph.

Your spooky tree looks great! I want to make one too, but I haven't found a good container yet. They have crows at Michaels too, but they're kind of overpriced. Cheesecake factory... yum!

CUTE decor! Love your tree. I am heading up to the airport this evening and there is a Dollar Tree at that exit. Email me if you want me to check for some crows for you. I'd be more than happy to look for some for you. Just tell me how many you want!

Your tree looks great! I love how you added the little pumpkins on it...great idea! How dare that lady pull out a measuring date the day after a date. She should know better, smile!

I love the tree and you have your house decorated so darling, or rather scary. I am not even wanting to think about Halloween. It seems that once this holiday is over Christmas is right upon us.

Cute Halloween decor. I had a spooky tree a couple of years ago, I threw it away and I have been too lazy over the years to make a new one. I think they are way cute.
