So. Have you ever gotten your feelings hurt and then realized that the person you are mentally accusing of causing those hurt feelings does not have, nor ever WILL have, any clue? And then you being to wonder if this is called being "overly sensitive?"
I won't go into whos, what, wheres and whys but I got my feelings hurt/was being overly sensitive yesterday. This used to happen more often but I've found as I've gotten older, notsomuch, for which I am grateful. But it is still a sad feeling when it does happen now and then.
In other news, my beloved sewing machine is "taking a break, I need some space" from me. Mid project of making mini capris for Lauren. So I called the Dr. for these sorts of things. I could barely hear the old man on his static filled cell until he mentioned $89.95 flat fee - ?!?!
Like, as in EIGHT -NINE? I repeated back to him?
Two minutes later the phone rings and it's old static machine doctor again. Asking me to describe the problem, he jabbers on ( I CANNOT understand him) I mention the machine is about 19 years old although in excellent condition.
He says loud and clear, "It doesn't matter how old the machine is, I find most often it is not the machine, but that the owners have no clue how to use it."
I had to stop myself from laughing outloud to tell him:
"Thank you sir for calling me back and I appreciate you doing so to insult me. "

Good one. Sometimes I think the reason small businesses aren't surving is because they haven't a clue about customer service. We love small book and record type shops, but we find the owners are totally antisocial, condescending, too busy to even look up when you have a question. In contrast to the perky-can-I-help-you Borders employees.
I'm sorry that you got your feelings hurt. :( And I'm sorry that your sewing machine is being mean to you, too!
It would have hurt my feelings too. But we had a wonderful time at dinner last light. I love that resturant/shop. You are always the best company...even sick. Love you!
Hope to do it again soon!
Ohh - that was sad. What a great thing to have a Dr. as a Father in Law!! I feel a million times better today!
If you ever need a sewing machine to borrow I'm sure mine would love to actually be used!! I want to see the capri's your making Lauren. Man, you are talented!!
Oh Im so sorry you are feeling kinda down. That is one of my biggest problems in life. I wear my feelings on my sleeve. I wonder who ever made up that saying? It doesnt really make any sense but you know what I mean. I hope you get to feeling better real soon! Your friend, Susie H~
My sewing machine is your sewing machine. Truly. In fact, it could probably use some use.....!
Let's get the kiddy pools out this week on the front lawns and let the kids go pool hopping. I like your idea about getting Ian, Greg and Carsen together, and I think that's the best way to do it! It's so darn hot that we may have to get wet too!
I hate that feeling! I'm sorry! That's pretty funny about the old man though!
Kristen,
I have to say, I'm too sensitive and I thought that my 30's would bring with them a big change in my sensitivity department. But no. I've decided that it isn't being overly sensitive, some people are just mean and like to be "ugly". I'm so sorry that you had a moment. I wish I could erase it for you. That sewing machine man is lame too. You're too good for this kind of treatment. YOU are AMAZING.
HUGS
I had to laugh at that guy calling you back to insult you like that. Too funny. -Julia
