Ahoy Thar Matey!!

The invites...thanks so much to Kim! I stole the invite from her and tweaked it a bit for us.

The grand plan was that we were taking Graham to Disneyland for his 6th birthday.
Then the questions started coming...

Will we be there on my birthday?
When is my party?
When do my friends get to come over?
Will you still sing to me?

Um, no, no party, they don't and sure!

I realized that him having a party was a big deal to him. So we started planning. We'll just have 3-4 kids over (since we ARE going to Disneyland, let's keep the party small and easy.)

Welcome to Kristen can't do anything small and easy. It's taken over my thoughts and my closet (really, I'm hiding the treasure chest in there so it's a surprise for Graham, too!)

It took me two days to get out all the invitations to 15 of his little friends but they are now all done except for 2... I think they turned out pretty cute!

Dear Gayle,

I LOVE the invitations. I have made those before and literally started a fire in my trash can. Hopefully, you were more successful. I can't WAIT to see the pictures from it. Also, I had a very long dream about you last night. You lived in a department store--nuff said.

Love,

Oprah

They are adorable! I'm like that too with party planning, I get completely carried away! We did a pirate theme party for my son's 3rd birthday and I did very similar invitations, with the burned edges and everything. I ended up over burning a bunch and had to make extras. I bet the party will be lots of fun!

What/who are those last two commenters? Very kind of you to teach english! YIKES!

The invites are adorable and we can wait to come and speak in our pirate/irish accents!

Are you kidding me? It is people like you that make me never want to plan a party, how do you compete with that? Hey idea...do you hire out? Just kidding! But seriously SO DARLING and VERY IMPRESSIVE!

Hi Kris! I think you're right, you have to have lived in So Cal to appreciate it. If you've never lived there, it just seems a little crazy (which it is), but I love it for what it is. I miss So Cal too, but I'd never be able to get hubby to live there. And the traffic is awful!

Cute. Coop had a pirate party and it was one of my most favorite parites to do. There was so much you could do. And what happened to 4 little friends...15!

They did turn out cute and I think you deserve a "Mom of the Year" award for throwing this party and letting 15 kids come, really 15? You are amazing!!

Thanks for the comment! They would be beautiful at a sweet first birthday party and you will be shocked at how easy they are to make. Feb is more than enough time. Have fun! Your children are adorable!

That is adorable! I know he'll have a great time. I have always wanted to do a surprise party for one of my children, but since they start talking about next year's birthday them immediately after guests leave from this year's party, I don't know how I'll ever accomplish that. I hope your secret plans pay off with an excited little pirate!
