Green with Envy

Ask Dan and he will tell you that his cute wife (that would be ME!) loves a project. And I fixate on the project. I think he likes when I find lengthy ones since he knows I will be preoccupied for a longer period of time. But this one is easy peasy. I would've been painting tonight but I got the paint chips too late in the day and I need to see what they look like in the morning. I would've been home sooner but I got sidetracked looking at hardwood floors in Lowe's and the kids were being completely angelic. So mama kept browsing!
This is the entry "pop out" wall (just using my Architecture Digest lingo here) in my entry way. Which can be dark. But I have "European White" all over my house and I think I would like just a little somethin somethin on the wall here. Please admire the mess that is my bookshelf right now as well as the current resting place of my dead sewing machine. Also, if you have a good eye, you can see the corner of the Little Tikes bounce house that has somehow found a home in my front room. But it's heavy and if it was in the living room the boys would be using it for something far more damaging. So right now, it's just kickin' it doing some interior design damage.

My carpet looks like Blech Cement. I hope you would not think I would choose Blech Cement - because I would not. I would, however, be stupid and choose the most fantastic color of Celadon Green from a 1"x1" square that has been a nightmare to decorate around and at the same time I love it.
I am simply NOT a brown carpet girl.
Here are the final contenders. I was going for one shade darker than my carpet - which is also in the curtains in my office and there are touches of it in my living room. They have little X's on them. So it all needs to look cohesive and asthetically pleasing. More AD talk for you.

This is how you keep a 3 year old busy who wants to help you. You give him all the rejects and tell him to decorate the wall with them. He was more than eager to help and it kept his little dimpled sweet hands busy. So these are about 1/4 of all the "Too olivey, too limey, too "EY"

So I will report my progress hopefully this weekend of a painted wall. Saturday cannot come fast enough. I am dying to do some yard saleing. Still looking for that bedroom chair. (Oh, and that corner is clean now by the way!)

Should I tell you more, tell you more? I am almost to my 100th post this year! (so, I missed the official one, yeah yeah) So I'm going to have a giveaway for my 100th post! I hate rules so I won't have many...just you have to post ON THAT DAY (pay attention!) and your name will be put in the drawing for some summer lovin' of your own!! I'll blog more about it soon!!

I have also been dealing with paint colors. I like color on my walls and yes I have that now, but I am ready for a change. Good luck with choosing the perfect one!

Oh, painting. My husband hates when I bring this job up. We have been in our house nearly eight years, and nearly all the walls need to be repainted. But we have two-story walls in our foyer and family room, so it will be a big project. Or expensive! Can't wait to see the impact of your new green pop-out wall.

I love green! Our living/dining room is done in a green color. I have no idea what color it is called but it looks great. Or at least I am partial to it. ; )

Have fun choosing the perfect color, can't wait to see what it looks like!

I am sooo bad at painting. I always get it all over my ceilings!
After this weekend if you have some tips to help pitiful me...please share :)
I love the idea of a darkish green, very libraryesque (can that be a word?)

Well don't look to me for advice. I just painted our living room and then painted it a totally different color. I'm horrible with making decisions. However, green is one of my favorite colors. I can't wait to see it when it's finished.
