This Will NOT Do!

Me with the famous jaw clip...so 5 years ago I think. Or in this case yesterday afternoon.

Me and the one time I highlighted it. My sister-in-law's sister Reagan did my hair (best cut I ever had in my life) and this was my hair 3 months later. She moved out of state and I was afraid to have someone else do it again!

Have you ever spent some time on your make-up and hair and then see pictures and think "What the....?" Yeah, well I have been thinking this today...what the...

I have never been super adventurous with my hair. Why mess with what works? Or maybe what I am comfortable with. I've almost always had long hair with some sort of bang. I've gone short to my shoulders a few times but never shorter. (Never will - I look SO bad with short hair.) But I am not loving my hair in pictures. At all. I spend
time on my hair people. It requires at least 3-4 round brushes, back combing, hairspray and other product, etc. etc. There is no "wake up and go" luxury to my tresses. So to spend all that time only to end up pulling it back into a jaw clip (feeling sort of 2001 about that) or to have it look like "eh" is not acceptable. I had MUCH better hair in California and for some reason my hair has changed texture with each baby that comes. The top is flat, but for some reason my hair underneath is corkscrew curly now. Another "what the..." (And is it bad that the boys are now walking around saying this phrase? Nah...)

And my make-up is a whole other story. Could I BE any more pale? You'd think I hadn't seen the sun in months! (And you would be thinking correctly.) I need some face tanner and quick. Looks like another happy excuse to hit Target tomorrow. But here is your chance to critique my hair and give me your 3-4 cents (the more the better) and I promise to only be semi-offended. And if you are going to be rude you had better have amazing hair once featured on a Pantene commercial or something.

What the.......I think your hair is beautiful! In fact, you look like you could be on a Pantene commercial yourself. It might take a lot of work but it sure looks good!

My vote is no changes - why mess with something when it's working?

You're hilarious. I really love that picture of you on the right side of your blog....the one where you're hair is dark and your bangs are longer. I think that's a very good look with you. I am quite envious of your long locks...don't cut. In fact, I am experiencing 'hair remorse' right now. I had an appointment on Monday evening....and I am still trying to come to terms with "what the...." is going on with my new hair cut....

So, don't fix anything that's not broken. That's all I can say. If you cut it, you will regret it.

I love your hair. It looks so great on you. I like it when it's darker and you have pale skin. You look like a porcelain doll. I also love it when you sweep your bangs across your face.
My sister was telling me about a lotion that gives a gradual glow and is at target. Maybe a bronzer. Then you can wash it off at night. Anyhow, I think you are beautiful.

What the is right! I love your hair. I don't think I've ever see you with it not done. As for me, my hair is seldom done. If you need a good hair dresser and are willing to go to Provo let me know. And pale is good, no wrinkles!

I always think your hair looks cute! But I know the feeling, of always feeling "What the?" I just wonder what mirror was I looking in? So I totally know what your going through!

I am with everyone else...I love the hair, and I actually like it pulled up in the bear claw things like those don't go out of date...well kind of not. Hair is just a win-hate battle, you like it one day and then hate it the next. The majority of the time mine is curly and that means I had a lazy morning and didn't want to touch the dang thing!

Hi Kris! So nice to "meet" you! As for your hair...we are our own worst critics! I think you look fabulous. You may feel silly about the hair claw, but I'm so envious at how great you look with your hair up! The fun thing is that your hair is long enough that you can play around with it to figure out what you like--who cares what we think. Have fun, and I will be back to visit! Chris

Kristen, you're nuts. You have BEAUTIFUL hair. Come to New York and I'll whip up some magic. I could give my four-years-ago-skills a run for their money. Seriously, I have more than half of the Manhattan Mormons coming to me (and that's more people than you'd expect). Kelly sent me an email saying I was mentioned on your blog and I was so there to see! Thanks for the compliment :) Check out my pictures of Piper Jane. She'll be 1 next month!!!!

This wound up being kind of long.

I have to say: #1-I think you have great hair. #2-I too put so much time into the hair and then see the photos and think, "What the??" #3- the quote at the top of your blog is one of my all-time favorites. LOVE IT!
