Model Home Stalker

I am somewhat obsessed with houses.  I LOVE them.  I especially love looking at model homes.  I pushed and dragged talked my mom into going to look at a few with me the other day.  Seeing a clean, nicely decorated home always gets me in the mood to get going with a bit more "umph" on my own!

I could use a new bedroom set.
(No, really, I could, we are using my Ethan Allen dressers from when I was 12 in our master bedroom.)
This bed frame would work perfect in our way too small room.

Pretty tile work on the tub.  I could add this easily to my house for not too much money.   Love those kind of ideas!

Funky, fun frame.  Great for a basement that needed some light bounced around.  (I hope you are appreciating my Interior Decorator technical wording here.)

Great mirrored dresser/nightstand makes the room look so elegant.  I love this room!  Throw two kids into that bed at 4 a.m. and a few piles of laundry and I could feel right at home!

I am thinking Grahamie needs an "older boy" room so I've started to look around.  I thought this quilt was cool with the striped curtains.  Although to be honest I should just start with not calling him "Grahamie" anymore in public.  I'll work on that.

That is one huge piece of fabric over a frame on that wall! Two yards of something beautiful and a staple gun and you are as good as DONE!  A great budget friendly idea!

If you are REALLY into houses like me you should go say hi to Julia over at Hooked on Houses.
It's one of my most favorite blog finds of all time!

I fear that we suffer from the same addiction! Hence the reason I bought a four foot in diameter iron circle thingie (technical term) to hang on my vaulted living room wall for $50 yesterday.

Those are all gorgeous, but I really really love that huge frame covered in fabric. I am thinking I need something like that. Wonder if I could get my husband to build it?
Swinging in from SITS!

Oh, I hear ya. I love visiting model homes. I haven't been to one in awhile--this makes me want to get out there and see a few new ones.

Thanks for the shout-out, Kristen. You're so sweet to mention me! :)

I'm with you on salivating over model homes - I'm hooked on home decor magazines. We have a big home lottery (ie. win a gorgeous designed home) charity lottery up here every year in support of Princess Margaret hospital, and we always buy a ticket - after we take a tour of the gorgeous house! My boy needs a big boy room now too (he's really, really sick of the train border :) - I need to get off my butt to make it happen.

Fun to find your blog- through SITS Saturday Sharefest!

I love looking at model homes too, even open houses. Great inspiration for design and decluttering!

My sister and I do this too. We love to see the million dollar ones. She checks out the decor, I check out the quality (hubby was a builder). I see all the little things, like baseboards not matching in the corners, etc. Thanks for sharing the ones in your neighborhood.

You know I love it too. But frankly, around here they all pretty much look the same.
I love the fabric/frame idea. I AM doing this ASAP. My basement needs some electrical panels covered up :)

OMGosh! I thought I was the only one. I love viewing model homes. If I'm driving and see an open house, I'll make a UTurn.
