My Fun Find!

See my new cute lamp? I had borrowed one to put here from my mom 4 years ago when we moved in. It's taken me that long to find my own- seriously, how dumb! But I was walking around Wal-mart searching for NASCAR toys (now THAT is a sentence I never dreamed I would say!) and lookie here, a cute new buffet lamp from Better Homes and Gardens for $14.99!!! Can you believe it? Too cute! It seems a little tall for the space now but I think it'll be ok once I find a mirror that I want to go there to balance it out.
It's been difficult to blog this week. Everytime I sit down to the computer my sweet LuLu comes crawling up fast, pulls herself up and just starts grinning and talking. How can I ignore that?

A few friends got together this week for a fun recipe party. Where everyone brings samples of their favorite recipe along with a copy of the recipe to hand out. There were about 20 or so people there but it was a lot of fun and got my house clean for the weekend!

My favorite by FAR was Laurie's Balsamic Bruschetta. YUM!
*4-6 Roma tomatoes
*1 bottle of Paul Newman's balsamic salad dressing
*1 baguette
*Mozzarella cheese

Slice the tomatoes and marinade in the salad dressing for 2-4 hours. Cut the baguette into thing (about 1/2" slices). Slice the mozzarella cheese into squares. Place a tomatoe on a slice of baguette and put a piece of mozzarella cheese on top of the tomoto. Place on a cookie sheet and broil in the oven till the cheese is melted.

How EASY is that? You could probably garnish it with some parsley to make it even more fancy. Although I don't think it needs it. I know what I'm bringing to a few holiday parties this year! Yum!

Love your new lamp and the recipe sounds delishious. I must say that I wouldn't be good at blogging if I had a little Lauren wanting to talk to me. She is the cutest.
love you,

I saw those lamps when I was there the other day. I thought they would look great in my b-room, replace the ones I have had in there since we got married.

Your little peanut is just so cute!
I hang my stockings from my mantel. I just make room somehow. I am having my sister to make me some new ones this year. I hope she can find the time to get around to it. Poor Madison is 8 and still using her baby's first Christmas...sad, I know. I really hate to let her grow up. Take care~

Hi Kris...its me again. I hang my garland from three small nails. I use the same holes every year so its no biggie. I place one on each end and one in the middle. I take one of the brances (they have wire in them) and wrap it around the nail. It holds very well. I know that for a fact because I have got a ton of junk in my garland, hehe. As far as the shows Im staying in Louisiana for the rest of the year. I have a show in Baton Rouge this Fri/Sat. I have another coming up in early Dec. at a huge church called Healing Place. Its always fun because its like a short womens retreat. I always leave with way more than I go in with... in more ways than one. Hope these answers help a little. Im sorry I will miss your friend. Maybe one day I can make my way there~

I can't even tell you how happy I am that you loved "my" (I say MY like I created it) bruschetta. I am not a huge cook so I am happy you enjoyed it.

Love the lamp, love it. Your table looks great. You have a darling house by the way!
