Disneyland Day One!

We've been counting down for our Disneyland trip to celebrate Graham's upcoming 6th birthday and their first time to Disneyland. How great were my mom and dad to watch Lauren for a whole week so we could just run around and have fun with the boys?! We woke the boys up at 4:30 a.m. last Monday to make the drive down - Graham was beyond excited yelling out "Let's get this show on the road!

Two hours later he and Greg looked like this:
Grumpy!

When we first arrived in the park we went straight to Town Hall and told them we were there celebrating a birthday. Graham got a Happy Birthday button and Greg got an Honorary Citizen of Disneyland button. So everywhere we went the next 3 days, everyone was wishing him a Happy Birthday. He was a bit shy about it at first but then loved it!

Our first ride was Dumbo - we had these awesome 3 day park hopper passes that gave us two days of getting into the park an hour early. We hardly had any lines to wait in and if we did, it was rarely longer than 15-20 minutes.
Greg and I ready to fly!
We happened to be the first in line to meet Mickey at his house that day. Which was lucky because by the time we left to go next door to meet Minnie, Greg was having nothing to do with any of that nonsense. Graham giving Goofy, his favorite, a hug.

California Adventure - that was the best roller coaster ride I think I have ever been on. Graham was tall enough to go on this but no way, he wanted nothing to do with it!

King Greg! Some sweet man made him King of the King Triton Carousel. A big deal for him after listening to everyone make a stink over Graham all day. He was thrilled.

Outside the Haunted Mansion. The boys were leary of this and sure enough, Graham burst into tears after the room stretched and Jack Skelington was flashed up on the ceiling. It was all decorated for Halloween crashing into Christmas and very cool. He calmed down once I appealed to his "how does this work" mindset. He gave it a big thumbs down when we got off.
Giggly boys who were overtired and very happy. It was a long, hot day but we had a great time! Finding Nemo was a disaster, it was SO loud it hurt Greg's ears and scared him to death. They weren't sure about Pirate's at first but ended up loving it. But the big hits were all the trains, Casey Jr. especially!

Looks like you had a blast! Must have been nice not to have to cart around the princess too!

I can't believe we didn't run into you, O' I really can believe it. Looks like the boys had a blast...isn't it fun? There is just something about Disneyland that is just, let's say "magical!" (I know I am a dork!)

Such great memories...I remember our first trip to Disneyland with the girls, we literally chased princesses around all day. They loved it - I mean really, meeting Cinderella in person? Dreamy.

We're going to CA for christmas and will head back there -- did you find good deals on your park hopper passes? Any advice? Let me know.

I've never gone to Disney suring Fall. How fun to see all those giant Mickey pumpkins. We usually try to go in Dec to drink hot chocolate and watch it snow on main street. I'm going to push for a Fall Disney trip.(When we finally forget the work of chasing a toddler and agree to go again)
Great pictures!

I LOVE the picture of Graham with Goofy! I can totally see Goofy being his favorite!

Sounds like you had a blast! I'm glad you got to leave Miss Lauren behind (only because she would have made things a little harder), but how did she do?

Can't wait to hear about all the other days :)

Thanks for visiting our blog and the advice on the boots. :) Your family is just beautiful! The smiles on those sweet boys faces will melt your heart. :) Glad you had a wonderful vacation and your Graham had a wonderful birthday.

PS--If we had a daughter her name would have been Lauren. :)
