Off to the Lake!

We are leaving pretty soon for the weekend. This proves how much I love my kids. They have a blast here. I think it's ok. I'm really not a fan of camping. With babies. In dirt. I'm not really a fan of family reunions either. Too many people and no one watching their kids. It stresses me OUT. I do not love chaos, (just my own, that chaos is ok)This is how I am from being raised in a family with two kids. Our family reunions consisted of 12 people for Sunday dinner and one big trip to Hawaii. That is more my style!

But I've got my ipod, I've got my books (reading "Bella" right now, so far so good) and I'm hoping Lauren will be excited to sit in her car seat for a few hours.

I think the word "vacation" is for people without children. This is NOT a vacation. It's a lot of freaking work. Wish me luck!

It should not be called "vacation" if you're taking children. It should be called "change of scenery". That's what I call it anyways.

I couldn't agree with you more - being on vacation is a TON of work (that's where I am now, and the boys are having a blast...me? Notsomuch...).

Ummm...what am I supposed to do while your gone? I. hate. camping. I think you and I are on the same wavelength as far as travel goes. Camping AND a family reunion?? I don't think so. Try to embrace it. That's the best I can do. :-)

I am SO glad to hear I am not alone in this. Sometimes I feel like such a brat about it!

Camping? WOW! You are a brave mama. I don't know if I could be as good as you are. My hubby would definitely hear a lot of moaning from me! Enjoy your iPod and your book! :)

I thought vacation is when you go away and you never come back....at least that is what they say on Forest Gump.

Good Luck. Hawaii? For a family reunion? I was born into the wrong family.

I've just stumbled upon your blog and love it!

We are currently redoing our kitchen. At this point I am without a microwave, dishwasher and oven. My cooktop is usable but hard to get to. This is as close to camping as I'll ever get!

Have a great trip!
