Lauren Got Mail!

I was surprised to see this come so soon, but there it was in the mail yesterday! I've sent away to the White House for a birth greeting on all three kids now. Not that I am really a huge fan of George W. at this point, but he's still the President so we'll let the other stuff slide. Just a fun little something to include in their baby books. It took me three (!!!) separate requests after Greg was born before it finally came - so seeing this two weeks after I requested it was a shock. Maybe their administration is finally getting their act together???
I've been busy around here - I went to hang curtains in my office and found that they were about 6 inches too short. Grrr. I love the curtains but had bought them two years ago for a different room, and there was no way to return them at this point. So my mom and I got crafty and did this:

Hooray for $2.00 fabric and braid trim at Wal-Mart. I wanted to get super crafty with the fringe but I know my limitations and my sewing machine is on the fritz anyhow. So I was thinking this was a decent start at home crafting. I think my talent lies more with flowers, but I'm working on that!

Here is the finial - I won't show you the whole thing because then you would see my messy bookcases on either side of the window. That is a whole other organizational project (YAY! I love buying a good something or other to put something or other IN!) But aren't they cute?

You are one crafty woman!

I requested greetings for my first kid, but never got one, so I gave up.

I wonder if I can request them 5.5 years later...

Wow, missy, you're crafty. The curtains look so pretty. I love that you have greetings from the pres. I think you're kids will think that is really cool.
hugs

Love the curtains! The bit on the bottom looks smashing (thats "English" for really good...and my tribute to the hottest bachelor yet!)
I think the letter from the Pres is a great idea...can I still get one this late?

For Cade - yes..they have to be born during his administration...so maybe all 3 boys? Go to the WhiteHouse.gov (I think) and then the greetings dept. It took me all of 5 min to type out and mail off!

I personally love George W. He's hot! I have a thing for men with gray hair. Anyway, I love the curtains. So darling. You are so crafty!

Aren't you thoughtful....your kids will appreciate that when they are older. Awesome job on the curtains. I have a sewing machine, but I require my mother's help to operate it. (that's pathetic, I know). The curtains look adorable! Can't wait for your next book club so i can take a peek at them in person!

p.s. I'm excited for the movie this evening! Wahoo!
