Flip Flop Heaven

Found right there on the clearance rack of J. Crew. The miracle was me being in there to begin with (I never shop at the mall with the stroller if I can at all help it) and they had my size. They originally wanted $36.00 for those silver cuties.

What-ever.
I grabbed up my two for less than half of that!

Oh - and LuLu got two new pairs of shoes at Nordstrom. She has fat wide feet. So that is why mommy has to buy her own shoes off the clearance rack.

Off to Preschool!

Greg was SO excited to go. We all love his preschool! Happy news, we were able to say hello to his teacher from last year also. She was the sweetest lady and Greg adored her.
Here he is with his new teacher for the 4 year old class. Not a tear or sad face, he was happy to be there!

ps..and I was happy to find out the daycare at my gym is only $1.50 an hour! That means right after I drop Greg off 3 days a week I can get my workout in! Yay!

Date Day!

I take each of the boys for a little "date" right before school starts. Graham got his date in July (we have year round school here) and Greg is on a traditional school year schedule for preschool. So he has been patiently waiting for his turn!
School items were on the list but toys and Transformers were on this ones mind! I realized that he hardly needed anything so we got some new Transformer undies and a new shirt for the first day. I'll wait for the cold weather to hit before I see what fits him from last year or what things Graham has outgrown that Greg can use.

Greg LOVES Chili's. Dan and I took him to lunch there a year ago and he has begged to go again ever since. Sad for him because the rest of us prefer Red Robin. But today it was all about HIM!
This kids eats chips and salsa like no one else. I think he likes it even more than Dan and my brother Mike combined. He can eat his weight in chips I think.
He stayed pretty busy trying out his new toy and he told me all sort of things he was going to love about school. Toys, puppet shows, new friends, blue crayons and his nice teacher we met earlier that morning.
I let him play with the camera at home (with my help - you can see my arm steadying him!) Not too shabby of a photographer though!

Thanks Greggie John for the fun date! I think you are a super terrific little boy and I hope you have a fantastic school year! I love you!

Picnic in Provo Canyon

Went and met Dan's family up in Provo Canyon Monday night for a picnic and hike. Of course I dressed inappropriately and wore flip-flops. I do not recommend doing such a hike in said shoes. Dumb. (The shoes, not me of course!)

Great time, perfect weather and a surprise to see Tim, Sarah and Lori there!

Graham got a little dirty. Apparently my children take on my preference of footwear also.

Greg lounging and looking super cute. I love this kid. (The other two also, but you know, I didn't get a super cute picture of them so I had to play favorites for a minute.)
Gorgeous view. I didn't get a picture of the Edward and Bella meadow because a) I was too busy hiking in the mud in flip-flops and b) Dan had the camera.
Cute Dan and LuLu's transportation for the evening. It was a great spot - we'll be back for sure for another visit in correct footwear.

Up to No Good...

Slipping and a sliding...
on the fun homemade slip and slides at the park. What a fun activity for the kids! They had so much fun and thank goodness the rain and wind died down for the kids to play.
I know my boys loved it!
Graham lost tooth #2! He always loses them while in transportation mode. First one when Dan hit a bump in the car on the way to soccer and this time when he did a jump on his bike! What a cool kid, right? This smile cracks me up - he was grinning and showing me his missing tooth at the same time!
Tooth fairy left him two gold coins and some fairy dust under his pillow and by the window sill...so exciting!

It's That Time of Year...

Two practices a week. Two games a week. And did I mention Dan was coaching Greg's team (I am the lowly assistant)

Bring it on. I love youth soccer, or anything that has my kids running and burning off a little excess energy!

Show Us Your Life - Wedding

Joseph Smith Memorial Building - I had a darling apartment one block from here so when Dan and I were dating, we would take a lot of walks at night downtown around these buildings. He proposed to me on the mezzanine of the building, so it made sense to hold our reception there also.
Salt Lake LDS Temple (where my great-grandparents and Dan's grandparents were married)
My keyboard is SO messed up today - sorry!! Here is Kelly's Show Us Your Life - Receptions and Honeymoons! After our wedding in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, we had our wedding luncheon and reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (Old Hotel Utah) in downtown Salt Lake on the 10th floor. Thank you to my in-laws again for the wonderful luncheon and my mom and dad for the TWO great receptions!! My friend, Nanette did my flowers and they.were.gorgeous! I spent a TON (wholesale, sorry!) on my flowers (I'm a florist, how would I not?!) and it was well worth it!

We had a awesome DJ and the BEST dessert buffet you could dream of! YUM!
I seriously gasped when I saw this! I was soo happy. Topiary centerpieces! Lots of apples, artichokes and grapes for fall.
Dan saying "Let's GO!" No digital photos of honeymoon - we went to San Fransisco and drove down the coast for reception #2 in my hometown, Thousand Oaks. The honeymoon was fun (I'll write our rental car story another time!) Thanks (if you got this far) for stopping by!

Debating....

Can't decide if I am irritated, being overly sensitive or just sad for Graham this morning.
I know he was sad this morning and I didn't know how to explain some things to him.

We need more boys in my neighborhood please.

We're Back!

Dan's parents own some acreage with a 100 year farmhouse on it. It used to be a real working farm with cattle and the whole nine yards...but not so much anymore. Now it's just a nice place to go relax and get a little dirty!

The old corral.

Greg loving the tire swing!
Graham and LuLu relaxing. She laid still for about 10 seconds!
My boys on the four wheelers.
Lauren hating getting wet and feeling sand on her feet. Dan picked out that tie dye bathing suit she's wearing. The lake is just a 5 minute drive out of the canyon from the farm. The boys loved building sandcastles and getting all sandy.

My car did not. We'll be taking care of that today!
