Waiting

For sweet Dan to get home with new tires on my car. He was already halfway downtown when I called him to tell him I had three kids in the car to go to preschool and I had a flat.

We've known for two months that one tire had a slow leak and we've just been filling it up with air every few days. Dumb, I know. We were procrastinating!

Then the flat came to a completely different tire.
And I have an appointment at 1 p.m. today to get the car serviced. You know, the two hour service that you love to take three kids with you to?
Yeah, that one.

I love Dan. He does the car thing AND the taxes. I knew I married him for a reason. (wink)

The garage sale was a huge success! I got more money than I was expecting and had enough left over of clothes to give to three friends of mine for their little ones too!
And if felt GREAT today to pay cash for Greg's preschool tuition and make a huge deposit towards his fall payment!

Garage Sale!

Kjersten and I are having a garage sale tomorrow bright and early! The snow is almost melted off my driveway, Graham is helping to make cookies to sell (he is saving for a Wii) and Dan is happy to get the stuff out of the basement!

I'm lame and get so sentimental about the kids clothes. I keep telling myself that it will be nice to get some cash to buy some cute ones for summer for them! Right?

Snif Snif. I don't want another baby I just want Lauren to stay one!

Whoever stops by who has a little girl is going to score BIG TIME!!

(um, I didn't make the signs...I just thought they were funny. It will NOT be funny if you wake me up though.)

Gift Registries

All I'm gonna say is if you are about to get married and committing your life to another person please do not show your love for each other by registering for Desitin and Legos.

If you seem to be not so serious about the institution of marriage then you will get a not so serious gift from me. Meaning I'll go cheap on you. (Oh RUDE!! Did she just say that? Yes, I did.)

(And don't get me started on putting your registry cards in the INVITE!!! For some reason that just irks me. We all know most people register at the same old places. I can do a search on your name. I have very few friends who are registering at Tiffany and Co these days. Thank goodness my sweet sister in law, Kelly knew that would be where Lauren would want her baby registry to be.)

On second thought, maybe this young and childless couple really just needs a book on etiquette a la Emily Post.

Rant over. Continue blog lurking!

I'm Still Here!!

I've just been chasing this little LuLu all over the place. She is into everything!! Mix that with teething and it's been a lot of sleepless nights for everyone. Cranky girl!

We had a great weekend helping do some yard work at Dan's parents house on Saturday. SIX hours we worked!!! It was so much fun though - so many family members came to help and it was one huge party. We came home tired, but it was one of those "good" tireds!

Now I'm doing the same thing around my home. Lots of spring cleaning - I love it! Doesn't a clean house feel great? Dan turned in our papers to get a building permit to start our basement today! I am SO excited to see that start happening!

Four more days till the hair gets DONE....I won't let this happen again, too many weeks overdue and it's looking bad.

I can't wait for Friday!!

Top o the Mornin' to Ya!

We are a wee bit late but still wanted to share our St. Patrick's Day fun!!
Our sweet lass Lauren loved her green pancakes! (sad she bonked her nose, it looks much better today!)
Greg came downstairs and I got the huge reaction from him - "What?! Did YOU do this mom? Green pancakes and milk? CRAZY!" Funny boy.
Grahamie came downstairs and looked around like he knew just what was up, "I knew you would do this mom" But he still gobbled everything right up. I missed out on a photo-op. We picked up one of Graham's friends from school and with all four kids screaming after footprints and chocolate coin trails in our house, I could barely keep up! (And keeping the boys fair to Greg, they were hogging all the coins and he wasn't getting any!) But this is what a lephrechaun left us. He left it high up away from LuLu too - those elfs are smart!
And these are the treats I made for the boys to take to their teachers at school. I wrote a super lame thing that said "I lucked out and struck gold when I got you for a teacher!" HSPD! We put gold coins, rolos, Hershey's gold bars and Andes mints inside. I think they turned out cute.

For dinner we had Grandma and Grandpa over for corned beef, potatos, Irish Soda Bread, green jelloand green salad. Which is right about when I started feeling yuck. So I will most likely never eat these things again!

I've got two more frozen corned beef packages in my freezer. They worked out great in the crock-pot. I got them for a great price on Monday at the store and I will NEVER cook them. I had to pitch the leftovers in my fridge, the sight of them makes my stomach churn.
Free to the taker - who wants one?

I'm Sick

Be back as soon as I can look at the screen without my eyes starting to blur.
Thank you mom and dad for taking the boys today. Thank you baby for coming home early from work to get LuLu.

BLEH.

Checklist

I was volunteered by two so-called "friends" to do some flowers for our church. (Just kidding Kari and Allison, I really didn't mind it at all) I'm actually flattered that they thought of me to do it!
Normally the church buys fresh arrangements but at the last meeting they purchased them for, one of the men on the stand was allergic to flowers! So there went the flowers pushed off to the side!
So I was given the opportunity to make two arrangements that can be used multiple times and that won't cause anyone to sneeze. I love doing flowers but I always get really nervous wondering if the people I'm doing them for will like them! Luckily when they were picked up from my home yesterday there were sufficient "oohhs and ahhhs" to know they passed the test!

Anyhow....
Do you do anything fun for your family and kids for St. Patrick's Day? I usually make green milk and a dinner of corned beef brisket with Irish soda bread. My friend Natalie takes traditions to a whole new level and I love that about her. So I'm copying her TONS this year.

Green milk and green pancakes - check. Leprechaun footprints, Blarney dust, pot of treats with gold - check. She does an all green dinner but I'll stick with our menu for now and maybe add some green jello with it. Should be fun!!

This is NOT good.

I cannot get into my hairdresser until the 27th. Stupidly, I've already had to reschedule once. So that means I am now about four weeks overdue for a cut and color with two more weeks to go.

This is going to be so scary. If you see my hair pulled up for the next 14 days you'll know why. Just be nice and know that the hair is on the calendar, and the pedicure is coming up soon also.
We'll just call it the belated Spring Overhaul.
Geesh.

As Per Tradition...

"I'm so sorry you had to get shots LuLu...mommy still loves you..."
New little summer top and capris.. (how can you not love Gymboree?) So cute!Look at the back! Eeek!
Some sassy zebra going on for fall - need to make a bow to match, let's hope Lauren has more hair by then!

A girl always needs new shoes. Lauren has fat feet...just like the boys. Hoping it will go away by two like them also! Found these on clearance at Nordstrom. Another Gymboree find - $2.99!! And it's little chocolates - yum! Perfect since I could just eat my little girl up she is so dang cute! Gymbucks acquired, mission accomplished. Even got the boys some new church pants. And made it through the mall with three kids and no major incidents.

Headaches have stopped - I really think it was lack of caffeine and sugar. Which I shouldn't have anyhow so I'm a week on the wagon quitting the the caffeine and 90% off sugar. I've been a little cranky (sorry Dan) from it but feeling better everyday not drinking it and drinking water instead. Am I weird since I LOVE drinking ice water? Good thing, huh?!

Money, Money, Money

Dan and I decided to refinance our house - on December 26th.
We just closed yesterday (we had re-worked things halfway through so it took awhile longer.) If you mention any money terms to me right now I will just roll my eyes at you from sheer irritation. Another lesson in patience I suppose.

I have had two HUGE migraines the past two nights that always come on around 4 p.m. Which is weird since I never (ever) get headaches. I went to bed last night at 7:30 p.m. and slept through till 7:30 a.m. I guess I needed some sleep. But to miss AFTR Part 2!!!
You KNOW I wasn't feeling well if I missed all those re-caps. Ha!
Thank goodness for DVR.

We have LuLu's one year appointment today. You know what that means - I'll post pictures of her "Sorry you had to get shots" clothes later!
